“Many of these stories share that black people are being “disproportionately impacted” by the virus, which is due to underlying issues such as asthma, high blood pressure and obesity. While this may be true, these statements are very limiting. They exclude the history behind why these conditions can exist in the first place. So, in this video, we take a step back, looking through a racial and social justice lens, to identify some of the historical factors that have created these increased risks for Black people.”
